Former UFC Heavyweight champion Sylvia will headline the first MMA event in Massachusetts

With the ink fresh on the new laws legalizing Mixed Martial Arts in the state of Massachusetts, a card being planned for the sport’s debut in the Bay State should be a big one.. Literally.

It has been reported by the “Boston Herald” that promoters Corey Fischer and Eric “Butterbean” Esch have scheduled the bouts under the Korean-based promotion company, Moosin, and will be holding their first show April 23, at the DCU Center in Worcester.

The main event and headline fight of this show is expected to pit former UFC Heavyweight champion, 6’8 Tim Sylvia squaring off against the five time winner of the World’s Strongest Man competition, Mariusz Pudzianowski.

The 33-year-old Pudzianowski made his MMA debut in December and this show will mark his debut in the United States.

This battle of the big men is expected to be aired on pay-per-view and also is expected to feature fights involving Houston Alexander and Rich Clementi
