Bellator Announces Hornbunckle vs Blackburn for August 19th
Bellator just keeps on trucking.
In the wake of receiving a lawsuit from Zuffa, Bellator decided to announce a marque bout for its August 19th show in Chicago, IL. Dan Hornbuckle, Season 2 Welterweight runner-up, will be facing UFC vet Brad Blackburn at Bellator 25. Both are hard hitting strikers and this should be an exciting fight.
Hornbuckle cruised through the 2nd season tournament until running into eventual winner Ben Askren. Hornbuckle is 21-3 and is a highlight reel in the making with brutal knock outs and spectacular submissions.
Blackburn is a heavy handed striker and in a 9 year career and 28 fights has amassed a 15-11-1-1. Blackburn holds wins over Edgar Garcia, Ryo Chonen and Jay Hieron.
Also on the August 19th card, opening round bouts in the Heavyweight and Women’s tournament. Scott Barrett will be facings Damian ‘The Polish Pittbull’ Grabowski, Cole Konrad faces Rogent Lloret and Zoila ‘The Warrior Princess’ Frausto will face Jessica Pene.
