EA Sports and Sherdog team up for an online travel and train series

At the top of the Strikeforce: Diaz vs Noons post fight press conference, an announcement was made from EA Sports and Crave Online.  Crave Online is part of Sherdog.com.  The announcement was that 4 MMA stars, Jacare Souza, Gegard Mousasi, Jason Mayhem Miller and Luke Rockhold would take their proteges around the world to train and get the up and comers ready for the next stage in their careers.  This will be better known as ‘The Sherdog MMA Fighter Exchange.”

The 8 fighters will be traveling all over the world.  Some destinations will be Brazil, Japan and various locations in the United States.  And the trainers…Bas Rutten, Pat Miletich, Randy Couture and Rickson Gracie.

At the end of the training, the 4 protege’s will be part of the undercard for Strikeforce’s big event in St. Louis on the Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral vs Dan Henderson card.  Keep a close eye on Sherdog.com for all the updates on the fighters journey toward December 4th.

With the war of words in full swing, a bout between Miller and Diaz would seem very likely and very marketable.  Although, having these 2 on a dais together to do a face off for a pre-fight press conference might need some serious amount of security to make sure that the fight doesn’t start early.

Since the videos are on YouTube, I can take the players and show you what is going on and how this little feud has escalated. Side note to both these videos. If you are offended by foul language, you will probably not want to watch the videos. Lots of cursing.

And here is Nick Diaz’s response. Need to add a side note to this video. The original was pulled by who ever administrates Diaz’s YouTube Channel. raoulduke4247 was able to download the video and upload to his or her channel.  The Diaz response may go away because of rights violations by raoulduke4247.  But the rights discussion is for another site at another time… Found another version of the Nick Diaz response.  This time the user name is NickDiaz209.  Not sure if that is really Diaz himself, but I would rather use what I hope is the original than someone squatting someone else’s video.

Now for some quick analysis of this fight if it was to happen. I think Diaz will have the advantage everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, Miller is game and is an awesome fighter. Now it should also be noted that Miller has fought at welterweight in the past. Miller faced GSP in lone UFC appearance losing by unanimous decision. All that being said, unless Miller could take Diaz out of his boxing game could be a bad night for Miller.

A little more King of the Cage Love…

Thought I would a bit of a write up to give some extra love to some of the people at King of the Cage: Legacy. A little announcer love, more of the ring girls and the cage attendants that kept that mats clean and sanitary.

This is Big Poppa Schnake. The dude is a kick in the pants. As I was sitting cage side, I had a chance to give him a bit of ribbing about something, I forget what. All in all the dude is hysterical.

And now for the ring girls. Like I said in the KOTC coverage, I don’t know their names, but who really cares. They are ring girls.

And this young lady has a very interesting leg tattoo…

Not sure if you can see that, but the tatto is Hello Kitty on a star.

Finally, some event staff that never get any love. These guys were in the cage between rounds and between fights keeping the cage floor clean and sanitary for the fighters that lay it on the line for our entertainment.

Many other people were involved in making the Legacy event happen, but I didn’t get pictures of them. We had a few big names in the house as well. Reno resident Ken Shamrock was in attendance.

Urijah Faber had a couple of his Team Alpha Males fighters competing on the card.

Guy Metzger, President of HDNet Fights, was in attendance.

and of course, you had Jason Mayhem Miller doing the color commentary.

I thoroughly enjoyed covering King of the Cage: Legacy and want to thank all that help put on the show. When you are next at an event, be sure to thank all that are a part of the production that brings you the fights and the entertainment you seek.
